More Leaked images of iPod touch 4th Gen and iPod Nano 6th Gen Cases

iPod Nano 6G cases are floating all round the web even before its launch. A guy Dhobbes managed to locate the cases and screen protectors for iPod Touch 4 and iPod Nano 6G on Alibaba. Interestingly, the design of the iPod Nano 6G cases seems to be legit as it closely resembles with the Chinese manufacturer X-Doria with openings in the rear plastic (may be for a 30-pin connector ?). Much anticipated Nano 6 is expected to have WiFi.

Some colorful cases (in 10 brilliant colors) for the upcoming iPod nano 6G is up for sale at Taobao, a Chinese online store. This new iPod nano cases includes a space for 1.7″ touchscreen, with a dock-sized cut-out along for a headphone jack, volume controls, a hold button, and a clip ’round the back. The Chinese case vendors are selling this as "AppleNano6 Silicon Case”, for just $3 yuan (about 45 cents) [Via - Micgadget]

Apple is likely to unveil iPod Nano 6G along with new iPod touch 4, lower-cost iOS-based Apple TV, 99-cent TV show rentals and cloud-based iTunes service in the “Special Event” on September 1st 2010 in San Francisco. We might see more such cases in another day or two. Stay tuned for more updates.

iPod touch and Nano Cases leaked?

There were pictures of covers for the media player iPod touch and fourth-generation iPod nano the sixth generation of Chinese manufacturer of accessories X-Doria. Judging by these pictures, the new iPod touch has a built-in camera with flash on the back of the chassis. In addition, the back cover had apparently rounded, not flat like a communicator iPhone 4. According to others, iPod touch 4G will front the camera, or just two.

New iPod touch will get a camera with flash, iPod nano - touchscreen

A second case is, obviously, for a small square the player with touch screen. Photos of 3x3 cm touch screen designed for one of the new products Apple, already appeared in the network. And, obviously, this screen will get a new iPod nano, although earlier it was believed that it was intended for the very tiny player Apple - iPod shuffle. In addition, judging by covers, the iPod nano 6G is a clip for attaching to clothing and volume control buttons on its side.

This information is consistent with earlier there are rumors that the new iPod nano is smaller and lose the navigation wheel. It is expected that the announcement of a new generation of players, Apple will in the coming days - perhaps a musical event on September 1.

If these are real, the iPod touch looks like its getting a new design as this case looks similar to the iPhone 4 bumper Case.

Apple Special Event Taking Place September 1

We’ve just received an invite to an Apple event taking place on Wednesday, September 1. Yes, next week. The event will be at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco at 10 AM PT.
While Apple will only say that this is a “special event,” the image above makes it clear that just as with their events every September, this one will be mainly about music — or at least the iTunes ecosystem. At this event, Apple is widely expected to unveil (or at least talk about) their new iTV device — the next-generation Apple TV. And they may have a thing or two to say about an iTunes television show rental service.
And of course, you should also expect new iPod touches at this event. Maybe some with the shiny “retina” displays and front and back cameras — perfect for FaceTime.
As always, let the Beatles/iTunes speculation begin now as well — though you probably shouldn’t count on it. I also wouldn’t hold your breath for the CDMA (maybe Verizon, maybeT-Mobile) iPhone at this event. You’ll have to be more patient for that.
The big wildcard may be: will we hear anything about iTunes in the cloud?
Obviously, we’ll be at the event on Wednesday to cover it live.

Another alleged next-gen iPod touch part has forward camera space

Another front panel claimed to be a component for Apple's forthcoming fourth-generation iPod touch has surfaced online, again showing a space for a front-facing camera.

The component on sale at Taobao, a Chinese online store, was first reported on by MIC Gadget. Like previous pictures that surfaced online, it shows a hole above the LCD display that would allow for a forward-facing camera.

Like the last part pictured, the purported iPod touch front panel is labeled "Apple (c) 2010." It is being sold for 650 Chinese Yuan, or $95 U.S. dollars.

The photos provide more evidence for the assumption that the upcoming iPod touch refresh, expected to be unveiled at Apple's annual media-centric event in September, will sport two cameras like the iPhone 4. The fourth-generation iPod touch is rumored to become the second device from Apple to support the open FaceTime standard for video chat.

Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs said earlier this summer that his company will ship tens of millions of devices compatible with FaceTime this year alone. Currently, only the iPhone 4 is capable of making FaceTime video chat calls over Wi-Fi.

While the iPod touch lacks a phone number to allow people to connect for a FaceTime call, beta releases of iOS 4.1 show that the media player will identify users by their e-mail address.

On Thursday, AppleInsider revealed that Apple is testing iOS 4.1, the next version of its mobile operating system, on numerous unreleased devices, including the next-generation iPod touch.

Apple testing new iPod touch, iPad and "unknown" product

Apple testing new iPod touch, iPad and
Apple is supposedly testing new iPad, iPod, and an "unknown" product using the latest version of the iOS 4.1 beta.
Although the iOS 4.1 beta, now in its third revision, has been available to developers for some time, Appleinsider is reporting that Apple is now using it to test products expected to launch in the next couple of weeks.
The site has found that three new Configuration Descriptors within its USB configuration files, all of which pertain to devices that list Apple, Inc. as their manufacturer, have turned up.
The article goes on to detail those Configuration Descriptors, clearly citing them as a new iPod, a new iPad, and a third device that isn't known, possibly an Apple TV (or Apple iTV) running iOS 4.
iPod 4,1 in the documentation is likely to refer to the latest iPod touch, while iProd 2,1 if following last year's reference of iProd 1,1 is expected to be for a new iPad.
However, a third mysterious device listed only as "unknownHardware" with an Apple product ID of 20547 is also present.

iPod Touch 2010 rumours: What we know so far

All the latest new iPod Touch rumours
It's fair to say that the iPhone-makers have endured an eventful few months. Antennagate still continues to take a little gloss off the launch of the iPhone 4, as Apple tries to swiftly sweep the whole embarrassing escapade under the carpet once and for all.

So how can the Cupertino company make it up to those disgruntled by recent events? Well, talk has intensified that Apple is preparing to update its iPod range, with the Touch set to get a major hardware revamp.

Surveying what has already leaked into cyberspace about a new addition to the Apple PMP family, see below for our run-down of rumours about the new iPod Touch.

1. iPhone OS 3.2 reveals new iPod Touch
Back in April of this year just when the iPad was first hitting the shops, Boy Genius Report noticed that the accompanying OS made reference to new models of the iPod, iPhone and iPad. While this may not come as a big surprise seeing as Apple tends to refresh its lineup on a regular basis these days, it was still enough to get those fanbois speculating what Apple had lined up next.

2. New iPod Touch specs
UK retailer John Lewis let more than the cat out of the bag revealing not only that an iPod Touch refresh was on the cards, but that they had an idea of the specs which they said were based “noises we’re hearing from suppliers”

At an event to show off its Christmas range, the retailer claimed that there would be a 5-megapixel camera with Flash, HD video, an accelerometer, gryroscope and a front-facing camera to deliver FaceTime video calling.

3. It's FaceTime!
Apple has been lauding the arrival of its Skype-style app when it was introduced with the iPhone 4, and the Wi-Fi enabled feature may well be ported to its PMP compatriot. New iPod Touch pictures appear to show room for a FaceTime camera, and while the feature currently only works between iPhone 4 handsets, this would go some way to convincing consumers that it really is a must-have feature.

4. iPod Touch camera: 5MP or 3.2MP?
Having finally added a camera that brings the iPhone 4 a little closer to its smartphone rivals, a 5-megapixel camera is also rumoured to be heading to the new Touch. Contrary to those initial reports, insiders told 9to5mac that the camera on the iPod Touch will in fact only be 3.2 megapixels, with ‘similar characteristics’ to that found on the iPhone 3GS. That also suggests there won’t be an LED flash either.

These supposed iPod Touch pictures show a device that passes a close resemblance to the iPhone 4, but also with a dedicated slot up top for a front-facing camera, which would also support talk of Facetime arriving on the Touch.

5. Case for new iPod Touch?
According to HardMac, a reliable source who helped identify that the iPod Nano was getting a camera, claimed that case specifications for the new iPod Touch have already been sent out to manufacturers. The iPod Touch case pictures appear to show a camera and flash which fuelling camera capability for the Touch s in the offing.

6. iPod Touch 2010 release date
Steve Jobs tends to save his iPod-related announcements for an event held in September which is supported by BMO Capital analyst Keith Bachman. There has however, been some talk that the new iPod Touch could be revealed much sooner. A “reliable source within Apple” told MacMagazine the new iPod range will arrive before August 16th. We're putting our money on Apple sticking to its usual September slot.

iPod Touch and iOS Media Event Scheduled for Mid-August?

MacMagazine reports (Google translation) that it has received information from a "reliable source within Apple" that the company is planning to hold its traditional September iPod-focused media event a bit early this year, with the middle of this month appearing to be the targeted date.
The MacMagazine today received information from a reliable source within Apple about a new event to the press that the company was planning to soon. Although the schedule cite the source as somewhere around 14 and 16, we bet our chips on a Monday or Tuesday - that is, 16 or August 17.
According to the source, the event will include a focus on the company's next-generation iPod touch, as well as information on an iOS 4 release for iPad. Revisions to other iPod models would also appear to be a reasonable expectation, although the report does not have confirmation as to whether they would be launched at the August event or held until the following month.

Rumors about the next-generation iPod touch have been circulating in recent weeks, with continuing evidence in both software betas and parts leaks suggesting that we can expect a front-facing FaceTime camera in the new iPod touch.

The rumored timeframe for Apple's media event also corresponds to a claimed August 17th release date for iLife '11. It is not immediately clear how an iLife update would directly relate to Apple's typically tightly-focused iPod events held around this time of the year, but rumors have also claimed that Apple will be introducing a new mystery application in the suite, and it is possible that the addition could be tied into iPod/iOS enhancements.

Apple iPod Touch FaceTime & iPad iOS 4 Event Happening In Weeks?

Apple rumors are fly left and right these days. That must mean something is happening real soon. MacMagazine just got word from one of their reliable sources that an Apple event is on the books for sometime between August 14-16, making Monday the 16th a shoe-in. They say the event is centered around both the new FaceTime-equipped iPod touch and the iPad’s iOS4 update. But as with most Apple press confernences, the event’s details won’t really be known until Jobs advances the keynote to the next point.
Update: MacRumors just noticed in the latest iOS 4.1 build that Facetime no longer needs a phone number to connect. Email address work also, which is perfect for, say, the iPod touch.Apple is about to own your face.
