iPhone OS 3.0 for FREE. Here's How

The new firmware update for the iPod and iPhone has been out for some time. After looking at some statistics I found out that only 20% of iPod users have upgraded unlike the 76% for the iPhone. Personally I think this is because of the price as its £5.99.

If you are a good person you will get the software here for a price.

If you are a cheap skate, I will be giving you a quick run through on how to get the software update. Beware that if you use my method you WILL have to re-sysnc all of your music and applications and you will also loose all of your application DATA. So, if you have downloaded songs from TTR2, you will have to re download them..

I am not responsible if my method fails so please read carefully.

Here is the guide.

1. Download the software update here.
If you have an iPod Touch 1G.
If you have an iPod Touch 2G.
iPhone Original
iPhone 3G
This could take up to 3 hours depending on your Internet connection. It is best to disconnect to the Internet now.

2. After that has finished download, connect your device in and wait for your PC to notice it is connected.

3. You should disconnect from the Internet as iTunes will communicate to the server and it will wreck the method. You will loose your DATA. Open up iTunes and go to your iPod/iPhone Tab..

4. Hold CTRL and click Restore at the same time. A window should pop up and you will have to find where you downloaded the file.

5. iTunes should sort out the rest and automatically patch the device.

If anything has gone wrong press restore with holding CTRL and it should go back to normal. If this hasn't worked send me a comment.

Tap Tap Revenge 3

I was reading an article as I wanted to find more information about the upcoming Tap Tap Revenge 3.

I finally found something and I'm here to tell you.

As you all know that Apple released their new iPhone OS conveniently called iPhone OS 3.0 which comes out for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The new firmware gives many features to the devices but mostly it touches up on a lot of API's for applications.

As you all know at the moment TTR2 already supports Push Notifications which is used when contestants send game battles and this features might also go further by notificating when there is more news.

So when the Tapulous CEO was interviewed, he was asked what features could new the game include.

Well I have all the information here so let's begin:

Users will get to design parts of the game soon. Tapulous will start by letting users design background art and themes, and compete to get them included in the game. Eventually, they'll open up more of the platform to designers and developers, too. And indie bands might get a pipeline into the game, too.

More premium apps are on the way. Tapulous has a new deal with Universal Music to build several new music games. The first, featuring pop artist Lady Gaga. It's currently the no. 60 paid app in the App Store. Artists like these apps because they bring them closer to fans, who might buy concert tickets or other music. Labels and publishers like these apps because they bring in new revenue from new streams besides iTunes MP3 downloads.

Tapulous is financially healthy. The company has sold 300,000 of its paid games, and via revenue splits from those sales and in-app advertising, has made about $1.5 million in revenue since launching last summer. The company plans to break even this summer, and could do a couple million in sales this year.

In-App Purchases will be coming to the game but this will mean that the application will be a paid app as the Apple CEO said "Free apps will remain Free". As Tapulous has already striked a deal with Universal Music there will be a bundle of downloadable content up for grabs when TTR3 is released into the App Store.

And all this in July where the company will unveil Tap Tap Revenge 3. I cant wait.

Windows 7 News

I have a bit more news for you regarding Windows 7.

After a court case, Microsoft has been forced to completely get rid of Internet Explorer. I honestly don't know how you are going to surf the web because to get the other Internet browsers you have to download them unless you have the option to install IE.

Also Windows 7 has an official release date.
The date is October 22. Acer was right.

The Beta which are builds 7000 to 7077 will be closing down in July so be ready to install the RC or revert back to your old OS.

New W7 build now out, called Build 7260. We are getting close to RTM and I will be doing a review on the new build.

You can now Pre-order Windows 7 and also you can get 50% off but this lasts until end of July.

The Box art for the OS has just come out. Link Coming shortly.

Apple vs Microsoft

Its been a couple of weeks since both companies announced their 2009 lineup with Windows 7 and the new Macbook. Now, both companies both competing to be the best and to outwit each other.

The thing is, I was wondering, Apple has a clear advantage. I'll tell you how.

Firstly Microsoft has to supply thousands of different PCs and Laptops all with different specs and features. All of these features have to work with the Operating System. So, in other words, Windows 7 has to work with every single computer out there. That's got the be hard work for the software giant. Just think of all the little features that Windows 7 has to be able to do from BlueTooth to many different network devices. After testing W7 for several months, I have noticed a great difference. It's great and it makes it a lot easier to use a PC again.

You have to remember that W7 is built for every computer out there, which means something must go wrong, it would be quite hard to get it perfect. It has to be able to work with everything.

On the other hard Apple has the high life. What they do is simple. They tell Manufacturers what they want in the product. They will ask for the top notch stuff which costs a bomb. Then all they have
to do is design an operating system that does all that. So basically, when Apple wants Bluetooth and Wifi and many other features built into the Macbook they simply add it into the programme.

Microsoft can't do this because they can't tell companies to have certain products in it. It has to supply to all of the stock. Surely this gives Apple a big advantage as they put what they want in and they can manage it a lot easier.

Also, you have to remember that an Apple based PC will set you back at least £1 000 unlike a Windows based PC were it can be as less that £400.

So when you say to yourself that Apple is the best in the world and that it never crashes and its so stable is because Apple has the luxury of having the best kit with having everything you need as Apple gives you that unlike the PC where you have to do it all by yourself..

Microsoft has done a pretty good job then, if you think about it. It is very stable if you have the kit that a MacBook Pro does and it is fancy and impressive if you get everything working. So, well done Microsoft for making a great operating system because you deserve that even though it still in BETA.

iPhone 3G S

It has been on the internet now for several weeks that Apple has announced the new iPhone 3G S which really has a boring name.

After looking at all the informaiton I could get hold of I came to the conclusion that there is no point buying 1.

Firstly after reading all the specs that you get with the new Apple device I found a great difference but that's were the fun ended, You could say that Apple are conning us because I would definatley agree with that. All the features are either highlighted in iPhone OS 3.0 or should probably be in iPhone OS 3.0. There doesnt seem to be a vaild reason why you should get the new phone.

Secondly, I think that most of the features are all about iPhone OS 3.0 as a lot of the features will be including for the iPhone 3G.

Thirdly, because of the release of the iPhone 3G S 32GB they are completely destructing the 8GB version which is shocking news as prices will start at a steep £400 while the 32GB version will be over £500 which is bad news if you wanting something cheap.. While the 8GB version will still be available, you won't be able o get the "S" version with twice the speed.

Personally I wouldnt buy the iPhone 3G S even though the extra speed does tempt me into it, I still feel like Apple could do a lot better.

Also, another thing the iPod Touch has a procssor capable of 600MHz but is underclocked to 552MHz while the new iPhone 3G S is at 600MHz. The old iPhone has a 620MHz CPU underclocked to 412MHz. While RAM is similar with the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch, the "S" version is double. That is the only problem I have., So, if you want it for games get an iPod Touch 2nd gen.

iPhone OS 3.0

That's right the new iPhone OS 3.0 comes out on June 17th 2009.

I hope everyone is very excited because I know I am. I have been watching the story an
d following it ever
since it came out. I was so excited I even downloaded the iPhone OS 3.0 BETA for a month until I decided it was too unstable for my iPod Touch.

Now all the hype is about the iPhone OS 3.0 I thought I would share you some of my thought about the new firmware update and how you can get it.

Firstly I will start with the features.
Spotlight Search is part
of your Home Screen and basically it is
a easy way to search for applications on your iPod or iPhone. All you have to do is type the app you are looking for and a list will come together. When you have finally found the application you tap on it and it automatically loads. It is a great feature if you have many apps like me

Secondly - Search in Application
This feature is in most of the apps such as Mail so you can search for a message or any
thing you need to know fast. This feature is also found in Music so you can quickly browse your music library.

Landscape Mode
Now landscape mode is in nearly every single application you can type in landscape mode which is very convienent.

Cut, Copy and Paste
They have finally added the most needed feature on the device. Everyone was going mad for it and it acutally works quite well with it.. Happy to see in the firmware.

I am still disapointed that Flash still is not been added to OS 3.0 as it would be great for Safari. I do understand that it may require a lot of battery but I still think that people want it a lot.

When watching the Apple KeyNote Speech about the new features of iPhone OS 3.0 I noticed that many of the features showed were a lot to do with new Application which will come in the near future such as Bluetooth enabled(iPod Only) and Music Library inegration. I also think that is doing a lot for Game Developers which doesnt give me a lot to do with an iPod.

Obviously I love the new features but I think a lot of the new features are mainly geared towards application which I'm happy about but I would like to see more iPod features not just for the games.
