Why can't you have Mac on a PC?

Over the last couple of months I have been researching to find out what's happening with Apple and Mac. I finally find something.

Now I hear many people say things like "Apple let you run Windows on a Mac so why can't Mac run on Windows".
I have the simple answer.

Microsoft is not allowed.

It clearly states in Apple's Liscence agreement when installing Mac OSX you cannot install any of Apple software on a non-Apple hardware.

Bassically it Microsoft did let you install Mac on it, it would be illegal unlike the other way around. You are allowed to install a Windows cofiguration on a Mac as it is not illegal.

Personally I think the big M should do something about this, I think they should ban this as Apple are really using this as a selling pointh which nicely comes to point that Apple is a hardware company unlike Microsft which is a software company and Apple are really competing in the wrong makret.

Now, after reading this you may wonder you may still want to install mac on a PC even though its illegal and it going to take ages. I have already done this process a few months back and I'm going to do it again. In a couple of weeks to I will post insturiotns on how to Dual Boot Windows 7 and Mac OSX on a PC.

Windows 7 RTM out

That's right Windows 7 has just got to the next step of release. RTM stand for "Release To Manufacturer" which basically means that Microsoft has released their new OS to companies so soon we will be seeing it on the shelves and pre-installed onto PC's

Also in other news

Microsoft has announced that they will be giving you the option to choose which Internet browser you will have installed on setup when you buy Windows 7. I will bring screenshots soon.

Windows 7 Family Pack announced

Today I found out that Microsoft will be offering a Windows 7 Family Park for the Home Premiun version.

This will include a valid serial key for upto 3 personal computers for about £80. This isn't the official pricing and may be subject to change.

This is a bit steep as Apple have family pack which consists of £126 for up to 5 computers. I think the Apple pack is a good price.

I personnally think that tthe family pack is a good idea but it was turned down for Windows Vista. I never bought Vista but I think that Windows 7 will be coming to my house very soon.

iPod touch 3rd Generation.. Under Testing

There is some news creeping up from the surface suggesting that Apple is nearly finished developing the new iPod touch 3rd Generation.

Firstly when iPhone OS 3.0 came out some of the build strings hinted that there was a new iPod as it was "iPod 3,1". This shows that the 3rd Gen has been tested for iPhone 3.0 and also means that Apple has at least finished making it.

A lot of tension is also arise because of an Asian company creating iPod cases which seem to have a gap for a camera, this is not confirmed yet be the Hardware giant.

The Build string also hints that the iPod is going through intense app testing as many iPod applications were picked out from the top 50 most downloaded.

Unfortunately this doesn't give any new information about any features that it may have or for that matter if it will have a camera. Apple tend to be very secret about these things but we can expect something coming in the near future. I believe that the iPod lineup tends to be updated in September as the Touch has been in updated in September. We better wait until then.

Google Chrome OS. Coming Soon

The Google CEO recently announced that Google will be making a rival Operating System to Windows, Mac and Linux.

It will be a Linux based edition which can run from Netbooks, Notebooks and eventually Desktop computers.

They say that it is going to be a light weight and fast as they want to be able to boot as fast as they can. Google want this as a recent poll suggested that people wanted an operating system that booted swift so they can check things like emails.

Google say that it will run native with the Browser Chrome as it will the centre of the OS. When booted it is going to go straight to Chrome. Everything will surround around Chrome as well. The company have a big advantage as they have a lot features which can be easily integrated into it such as Maps and Mail which will be added.

Also it could run on Mobiles which may mean that there will be another Google smart phone coming soon.

They say that the new operating system will not be able to have virus unlike Windows. Is this true? This is not true as all OS's can contract some sort of bug. Even Macs get viruses, they're out just that they are scarce and harder to find. So maybe it would be a good idea to get some security.

A few more questions about the price of Chrome OS, it could reach to about £150 depending on the device, if it is a phone it could be as little as £30.

Finally will it be available for download. I say Yes as many other companies say this as well. Google has not confirmed this yet but it is very likely.

Windows 7 Ultimate

As the new builds keep coming in, the look of release is approaching and also what the versions of Windows 7 will offer.

At the moment all the Windows builds just included the full works which was Ultimate, but I do understand that one of the builds did give you an option but the recent are Ultimate. The build I am on is 7260 which is the top notch.

When the Operating System is released the consumers will choose which version they will buy and for most cases this will be Home Premium out of the 6 which will be coming out.

Because all the BETA and RC builds are the top of the range there will be some surprises. A lot of the features will not be integrated in the release. Some of the Ultimate features include Bitlocker which comes standard in an Apple Computer.

Is there any point really to get the ultimate version. You could probably get this in free downloads somewhere.

Also many of the versions will not be available on the market but Microsoft say that they will be up for Pre-Installation.

iPod touch with a camera?

Remember my post earlier this when I commented on the fact that the iPod Nano and the iPod touch could feature a camera.

Well a Chinese iPod case manufacturer has made this case which seems to have a hole for the camera could go. Furthermore the title of the page is "iPod Touch 3G cases". To me this is a good bit of evidence that the new iPod touch lineup could have a built in camera.

I did found out that these Asian companies do try to guess what the Apple people going to be making next so this could just a picture of what they are thinking of.

Personally I don't think that Apple will put in a camera in their iPods but we will find out soon, maybe in October time.

Windows 7 not to have Internet Explorer

Microsoft recently annouced that there new operating system will not ship with Internet Explorer. The Browser gaints such as Mozilla won the case so Microsoft cannot bundle their own browser into the OS.

Consumers will have to choose if they want IE or if they want they can choose another one instead. This means that other companies have a chance of getting their product on your computer. According to the software giant it is going to be an easy to install process which you have to opt into. He also added that they just want to comply with the European law.

Statisttics show that IE hold a 65% of all web browsing while Firefox holds 22.5%. Apple's Safari has 8.5% and Chrome has 1.8% while other browsers such as Opera and Netscape have less that one percent.

One of the things that bug me is that how Apple can get away, in one of my previuos posts I say that Apple also bundle their own browser (Safari) but they can get away, they also bundle many other products yet they aren't in the lime light, Mircosoft have to take out IE but Apple doesnt have to take out Safari.

Why is this?
