It's not the 2nd gen slower because it has jailbreak? I have a 2nd gen and i can say that the jailbreak made my ipod slower. I'm saying that because the boot time will be for sure affected with jailbreak. My opinion :P
I have a question. Ipod 2nd gen, have a TN screen of IPS? And when apple introduced the IPS screen?
Sorry for my very late reply here.
The 2nd Gen is affected by the Jailbreak but at the time it was a stock JB and nothing installed.
The Apple IPS should be in the iPhone 5 but probably not the iPad.
