Apple has announced that the demand for the iPad in the US is so high they will be forced to delay shipments to the rest of the world by one month. International customers will now have to wait until the end of May to get their hands on Apple's "magical" device.The company has sold more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, and continues to fill a large number of pre-orders for both the WiFi and 3G models in the US.
According to the April 14 Media Advisory, Apple says they have "made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May."
"We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason-the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far," said Apple.
The company will announce international pricing and commence international online pre-orders for the device on Monday, May 10.
